More rehearsals with director extraordinaire Rachel Klein, and "angel" stage manager Naomi Anhorn. Voice overs arrived (done by Danny Bonner). Music has been added. The pieces of the puzzle coming together. More to come.
Rehearsing with Rachel Klein, the director in various spaces in Williamsburg. Rehearsed the other night in an "open space" theater. Got a sense of what will be like at Theater for the New City. Rachel astute in her work. Looking forward to further rehearsal this week.
Rehearsing in Williamsburg in large dance spaces. Finished second week of rehearsals today with the director Rachel. In a large white, open space. Plenty of room to work on the movement in the production, and nothing to distract the eye, or the mind. The characters are "bigger than life," not "kitchen sink drama" at all. Hamlet, Lucifer, Dracula, and Oedipus are all "big."
Tomorrow we begin our second week of rehearsals. Props and costumes beginning to be added, piece by piece. Music is being introduced. Rachel, the director, is fine-tuning the movement and action. Each rehearsal brings it closer to the final product.
Rehearsed in Williamsburg with director Rachel Klein, and stage manager Naomi Anhorn. Beginning to the explore the "world of the play" in which Lucifer, Hamlet, Oedipus and Dracula coexist. Interesting discoveries. A very good start.
